Managing Your Website During Covid-19

Working from home on a computer with coffee and laptop

I hope everyone is staying safe and healthy during these unprecedented times. Staying home and social distancing is not easy but it is what we have to do. Given the uncertain economic times, it may not seem like the time to focus on marketing your business but now is the time to get your website in order so you are prepared for things to get back on track.

You may have had to change the direction of your business or cease operations temporarily. One of the biggest mistakes you can make is to lose touch with your customers.

Review Your Website

If things have slowed down for your business, now is the time to review the content on your website.

Things to consider:

  • If there has been a change in how your business operates during Covid-19, have you informed your customers about it on your website?
  • Is the content accurate?
  • Does it reflect your current offerings?
  • Is it easy for visitors to your site to find your contact information?

Update

Outdated or wrong information on your site is confusing for visitors and will cost you business. Having the correct information is critical.

Revamp

After reviewing and updating your site content, it is also a good time to consider how your site is organized and to add fresh content. This could be a blog post or updated services or products.

If your business has transitioned to curb-side pickup or delivery, consider adding online ordering.

Prepare

Now is also the right time to review your marketing tactics so you are ready for business when you are allowed to resume normal operations. The business that does nothing will be caught flat-footed and not be ready when the economy starts to open back up.
